Mariya Essani | Middle School Surge
I graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a B.S. in Life Science Education in May of 2016. I have made Plainview my home for the last 7 years. I am originally from Russia and I have lived in California and Washington State before moving to Texas. This is my fifth year of being the Jr. High S.U.R.G.E. teacher and teaching science in the discipline setting at the Ash Program. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going out in nature, cooking, gardening, and traveling. But I particularly enjoy being involved in my church, growing in my faith and as a person, going on mission trips, and sharing the love of God with others. My favorite verse is Philippians 1:6, which says, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
