Bio: As a Technology Instructor, I work diligently to address the Middle School Technology Applications TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) through presenting real-world applications and incorporating cross curriculum knowledge of English, Math, History, and Science where applicable. My career began in 1990 as a substitute while completing my college education. I have taught both High School and Middle School levels in the subjects of Earth Science, Business, Math, and Technology. In 2017, I began working on a doctorate in administration. I believe education is a lifelong process and because of this belief, I believe everyone can achieve their goals as long as they continually strive for their success. I love working alongside my colleagues at Estacado and with the students. I never become tired of seeing the Ah- HA moments in my students eyes and work. When I am not working, you will find me working alongside my church family (Church of Christ) in many community activities, or exploring any of my many hobbies (writing another Bible-based book, hair accessories, Dog training, crocheting, or working out). My favorite book is the Bible and one of my favorite scriptures is 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14, “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.”

I am from Biloxi, Mississippi originally, and moved to Plainview at the age of 11. Getting my Bachelors Degree was a challenge, and I am very blessed to have accomplished that. Originally, teaching was not a goal for me, however, I realized it was one of my callings by working in the youth department at my home church. I started as an aide in PISD in the Special Education department working with students with behavior problems then moved to helping students with learning disabilities and enjoyed every minute of it. Knowing you are helping students understand and accomplish great success is a good feeling. I am currently at Estacado Middle School teaching the Career Readiness class. Helping students realize what career and studies they are looking for in their life as an adult and inspiring them to understand that they have a great future ahead of them, is an awesome feeling. Helping students achieve goals makes me smile daily.
