WELCOME!  MY NAME IS CHIEF BRANTLEY, THE SENIOR NAVAL SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR FOR THIS PROGRAM AND YOUR INSTRUCTOR FOR NAVAL SCIENCE ONE COURSE MATERIAL.

The Naval Science One course is coordinated and directed for first year cadets into the NJROTC program. The course curriculum is designed around four textbooks: Naval Science One, Cadet Field Manual, Cadet Reference Manual, and Cultural World Studies.  As the year evolves, more outside resource material will be provided to further enhance the learning opportunities.

Emphasis initially that concerns you most includes:

1. Grooming standards in accordance to the Cadet Field Manual, chapter one.
2. Uniform Regulation standards in accordance to the Cadet Field Manual, chapter one.
3. Basic NJROTC cadet knowledge of understanding referencing all four textbooks.

You are entering and a member of one of the most recognized and decorated programs on this campus. We are a “Distinguished Unit” as per Naval Award and Recognition program. Your success can be attained through one primary objective: POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE. Adhere to BASIC grooming standards, uniform regulations, and knowledge WILL ensure you accumulative success where you will be rewarded via ribbons and medals to be worn on your assigned uniform, certificates, promotion, and eventually upper-level cadet officer positions.
