The Plainview ISD Board of Trustees values the notion that life circumstances should not limit our student’s future success and that every employee, inclusive of the board of trustees, has a responsibility to ensure a quality education for our students.
The Board of Trustees consists of seven board members elected to serve, without compensation, overlapping terms of four years each. Trustees are elected for rotating four-year terms; elections are held annually in May. Although candidates run for specific places, they do not represent specific geographical areas. Rather, each represents Plainview ISD at-large. Following the annual election, the Board elects a president, vice-president and secretary to serve one-year terms.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for setting policies, establishing an annual budget and selecting the Superintendent.
