I was raised in the small West Texas town on Tahoka.  I feel fortunate to come from a long line of educators in my family. My mother was a teacher for 30 years and my biggest inspiration and encourager. Three aunts and an uncle were also teachers and coaches. My sister-in-law and several cousins have careers in education as well. I have always said that teaching is in my blood. I know it is my calling and I am very passionate about educating today’s children to be productive and contributing members of society and the leaders of tomorrow.

I began my teaching career in 2005 after obtaining a second bachelor from Lubbock Christian University. In 2015, my family and I moved to Plainview and I began teaching 7th-grade ELAR. During my teaching career, I have taught, 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th.

My husband Jeff and I married in 2005 and are blessed with 3 children: Colton, Cagnie, and Cambrie. Our girls both attend schools in PISD and our son is an assistant college baseball coach. My family and I love to worship with our church family at Plainview First Assembly and serve on the Serve Team.  I also love to travel (the beach is my favorite), read, journal and cook and watch my children as they pursue their many varied interests.

Born and raised on a farm in Kansas, I come from a long line of educators; three of my aunts were teachers, (one was my first-grade teacher), two of my sisters are in education, and one niece is a teacher.  I began teaching in Plainview ISD in January 1995 after I graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with my Bachelor’s degree in 1994; I earned my Master of Education from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2016. In my teaching career, I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

I take great joy and satisfaction from my teaching career. I feel it is my purpose and calling in life to work with middle school students, teaching them not only how to be a good reader, but also teaching them about life and how to be productive citizens and people of integrity and good character.

Married in 1975, my husband Steve has pastored Trinity Life Church since 1994.  We have two children, Rachael Molina and her husband Rudy, and Rustin Rogers and his wife Rachel, and four grandchildren. We have lived in Plainview since 1994. I am also a children’s pastor for grades 1-5 at our church. I really enjoy living in Plainview and working for Plainview ISD.
