I was born and raised in Floydada, Texas to a farmer and school teacher/speech pathologist, so my love for kids and the outdoors was instilled at an early age. As a teenager, my loves were rodeo and sports, which have both carried through my adult life and into my children. I always knew that I wanted to work with kids in a school setting, however, I quickly realized that I wanted to be in the classroom with kids and would probably divert from my original plan of being a Speech Pathologist. I started out my career as a PE teacher/Coach in Edgewood, NM and did that for 2 years. From there I worked in Truth or Consequences, NM, 2 years as a K/1 Special Education teacher and 2 years as Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. My next move was my home away from home, Artesia, NM. I was an SLPA for 1 year and then spent the next 14 years teaching 8th and 9th-grade Inclusion Math, with 5 of those years acting as the High School Rodeo Coach capturing 3 state team titles and 2 reserve state team titles.

I have two children, Kenna and Luke, who are both in college on rodeo scholarships. Raising them by myself from early childhood years, I was blessed having a career in education which allowed us to share the same schedule and be in a family-centered environment. The three of us traveled the country rodeoing for many years and when they went to college, I was totally lost. I always knew I would return to my roots because of the farm business shared with my sister, but I definitely felt like God was telling me it was time. Upon moving back home I reunited with my high school/college sweetheart, and after 25 years of separate lives and raising children, we were married in July 2018. Along with Grant, I gained two bonus boys, Casey and Kelton.

I was raised in Floydada, Texas and graduated from Floydada High. I attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. I taught in Floydada for 18 years as a Life Skills teacher. In 2014, I began teaching in Plainview, TX at Estacado Middle School. I have two daughters, Faithe and Eden, who are my world. One is currently attending Wayland Baptist University and the other is finishing up High School. I am grateful to be a part of a wonderful faith family at Harvest Christian Fellowship and am a part of Bravehearts, a men’s Christian group. I am also a not so secret nerd, watching Marvel movies and Star Wars. May the force be with Estacado as we train and enlighten the minds of young padawans!

I grew up in Hale Center, Texas.   My mother was a special education teacher and I knew that is what I wanted to do also. I started my career in education as a paraprofessional at Coronado middle school and worked there for 7 years. I went to Wayland Baptist University while working as a paraprofessional and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in 2012 and my masters in 2016. After graduating, I worked for one year at Lakeside in 5th grade as the resource teacher. I then started at Estacado and have loved working here since! I have worked in inclusion and resource.  Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, Vicente, and our 2 kids, Tate and Brooklyn. We enjoy being outside, watching movies together, playing with our cat, Lola, and spending time as a family!
