Hi, my name is Emily Johnson. I am currently a Special Education teacher at Hillcrest Elementary. This is my 6th year working for Plainview ISD. I graduated college from Texas Tech University in 2012. I am from Lockney, born and raised, where I met my husband, Brett (when we were 5). Together, we have 3 beautiful children, Kaselyn (6), Brecken (3), and Rhyder (1).
Peter Stevens | Special Education
Hi there! My name is Peter Stevens and I am one of the special education teachers here at Hillcrest Elementary. I work with kids who qualify for special education services. Sometimes, I go into the general education classroom and work with the general education teacher making sure kids get the accommodations and services they need to be successful in the inclusion setting. I also pull kids out of the general education classroom and teach them in a resource setting which is a small group setting. I teach all subjects and work with multiple grade levels. I have been teaching for ten years wearing different hats. In the past, I was a fifth grade teacher and a third grade teacher but being a special education teacher has been most rewarding. I am new to Plainview and I can honestly say that this town has the friendliest and most hard working kids in Texas. I am glad to teach here.

I also received my Dyslexia training and certification through Scottish Rite. I currently help to care for my mom. I have a 4 legged furry child named Bentley. I enjoy reading, participating in church activities, and visiting with friends.

I have been teaching for four years. I was born in Galveston, TX, but I have spent most of my life in Carlsbad, NM. I am blessed with a wonderful family – my husband Scott, my son Jackson Wade, and our five dogs. As a family, we are very involved in our local church, and we strive to support our local community. I am a lifelong learner, and enjoy challenging myself through further education. I also enjoy completing 1500-2000 piece puzzles, playing board games, binge-watching Netflix, and reading.
