    Curriculum

Thunderbird Elementary provides rich and challenging academic programs in a supportive, student-centered school environment. Our academic instructional lessons are data-driven, and implemented through research-based instructional strategies which increases student engagement and mastery of content. The scope and sequence of each core academic subject is guided by the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) Resource System which is a quality curriculum designed for targeted success and aligned assessment. Balanced Literacy is incorporated throughout all content areas; Guided Reading and Fundations phonics provide a foundation for successful student literacy. Our students are held to high academic standards and expectations by all staff members.
